COVID-19 Related Refunds

Latest Communication from SOCS Leadership

Good evening SOCS travel families,

Over the past few weeks, USYS and MSYSA have issued directives that have effectively ended the Spring 2020 youth soccer season. Given these recent developments, SOCS has cancelled all spring activities in which our teams were scheduled to participate. We have done our best to keep you informed of these developments, including our travel Zoom meeting last night, where SOCS announced its travel soccer refund policy. As you consider the options the club has presented, please use the instructions below to let SOCS know how you would like to proceed.

Registration Fee Refunds:

SOCS will be offering prorated refunds to our travel players who were scheduled to participate in the spring 2020 season. We are currently setting up our refund system to handle requests and will do our very best to process them as quickly as possible. Please reply by May 31 in order to receive a refund:

Contributions to SOCS:

As is the case for many small businesses and organizations across our state and nation, the coronavirus pandemic has adversely affected our soccer club's financial position. If you are able to do so, we ask that you consider using your refund, in part or in total, as a donation to the club to help us weather this crisis. Please send an email to the address listed above (socsrefunds@gmail.com) if you'd like to use this option.

As a 501(c)3 organization, your contribution to SOCS will be considered a tax deductible charitable donation for 2020. We will provide you with a letter attesting to this for your tax records. If you have about this option, please contact: socsregistrar@gmail.com.

We appreciate your continued support through these difficult times, and we wish you and your family good health and safety. We are looking eagerly toward the fall season, with the hope that the summer will bring back normalcy to our lives, and with it the opportunity for our kids to get back out on the soccer fields.

Thank you,

SPRING 2020 REFUNDS

At SOCS, we believe in doing the right thing during this unprecedented time. That’s why we fully refunded our recreational soccer families and offered a prorated refund to our travel soccer program families for cancellations in the Spring of 2020. We have always valued our parents, players and community, and will continue to do so. It's one more thing that sets us apart and helps to make us more than just a soccer club.

Will I be refunded if the Fall season is cancelled?
SOCS has committed to do the right thing and understands the financial hardship for our participating families during this  unprecedented time. We will reduce annual fees or issue prorated refunds for cancellations of tournaments, or cancellations of complete Fall, Winter or Spring seasons due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
