SOCS Board Positions Available

We need your help!

The SOCS volunteer positions listed below are available.  If you would like to volunteer please contact MaryBeth Braun (socsscheduler@yahoo.com) or Brenda McLaren (socsregistrar@gmail.com).  This is a great organization that ensures our young soccer players have the opportunity to play soccer in a fun, exciting, and safe environment.  Please consider the following positions:

Division Manager

  • Maintaining communication with the division level teams you support.  
  • Support the coaches throughout the season with schedule changes, questions, issues.
  • Address any referee issues/concerns
  • Keep coaches informed with any information from the SOCS Board.  
  • Ensure all coaches are registered and have complete their risk assessment and Heads Up Concussion training
  • Assist Uniform Coordiator with the stock of jerseys and distribute as necessary.

Recreational Registrar

  • Create the registration programs for the fall and spring recreational leagues.  
  • Process the recreational player registrations for the fall and spring seasons.
  • Form appropriate number of teams and place paid registered players on team rosters
  • Prepare rosters for coaches
  • Ensure all players have completed the Heads Up Concussion program registration
  • Address questions and concerns from recreational players regarding registration.  
  • Assist with the maintenance and update of the SOCS web-site; specifically registration information
  • Report registration numbers, issues, concerns to the Board.
  • Compensation of $2.00 per player registration is paid to registrar for this position.

Premier Registrar

  • Create the premier programs for the fall and spring premier leagues and premier tryouts.  
  • Process the premier player registrations for the fall and spring seasons.
  • Ensure all premier players from official rosters are registered and all registration fees are collected.
  • Ensure all team managers are registered and risk assessments have been completed.
  • Address questions and concerns from premier players regarding registration.  
  • Assist with the maintenance and update of the SOCS web-site; specifically registration information
  • Report registration numbers, issues, concerns to the Board.
  • Compensation of $2.00 per player registration is paid to registrar for this position.

Recreational Uniform Coordinator

  • Coordinate with the Division Managers to purchase and distribute all uniforms and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of all uniforms, storage facility, and provide yearly report to SOCS Board.
  • Coordinate with Recreational Registrar to order maximum roster count for the fall season and any new teams for the spring season.
  • Address questions and concerns from recreational coaches and/or Division Managers regarding uniform issues.

Avoid paper and register for tryouts online!

For the 2015/2016 Premier tryouts we are moving to an online registration.  Please complete the registration online and avoid having to print the paper registration!  When you show up for the tryouts, you will receive your competitor pin-on number.  There are no fees associated with this registration.  Click on the link below or check out the Registration page.

The registration does not constitute SOCS premier player registration or guarantee a placement on a premier team. It is merely informational in purpose and only for the use of South Oakland County Soccer for tryout registration and evaluation.
