South Oakland Soccer is a community-based non-profit sports organization. Player-oriented and economical, we promote soccer across age and ability levels within an appropriate and positive environment, promoting good sportsmanship while putting the needs of the children and young adults we serve first.
The spring season registration for the SOCS recreational leagues will be open until March 1st. Register early if you would like to make a special request for a coach, team, or specific players. Requests are granted in the order in which the players are registered and paid. You can pay the $75.00 registration fee online when you register your player. New this season, the fee is the same regardless of how you pay.
Register your player for the Heads Up Concussion program if you have not registered them in the past. This program replaces the paper form that was previously required. This is for concussion detection and awareness.
Click Registration to be taken to the GotSoccer Registration Page or for more information, click the Registration option along the top menu.
All players need soccer cleats, shin guards, socks, gym shorts, and a ball. SOCS provides the team jerseys. No jewelry can be worn during the game including earrings.
Deborah Barnett, the manager of the Force 01 White team recently reached out to the premier SOCS parents to see if they had old uniforms that they would like to donate to a rural school in Kenya who was in dire need of soccer uniforms. Eddie Gathago's father David took the donated uniforms and t-shirts back to his childhood village. The response was great!
"It was indeed a new dawn for the community at large where pride and confidence was bestowed on them. On behalf of the school and the village community please accept greetings and thanks for such a noble undertaking and hope to continue doing good for the sake of those in need." responded David Gakure.
We'd like to make this a year event so please do not throw away those uniforms! Contact Deborah Barnett for more information.
